Export Brave bookmarks to an HTML file
Updated
To export bookmarks from Brave on a computer, open the main menu, choose Bookmarks > Bookmark manager, click More options (⋮) at the top right, and choose Export bookmarks. Brave saves an HTML file that any browser can import. Unlike most browsers, Brave can also export bookmarks from its Android and iPhone apps. These steps follow the Brave Help Center, checked in October 2026.

Open your export in Reading Rewind
Drop the file onto the free Bookmark Explorer on your computer, or click Browse Files and pick it. The explorer reads the file in your browser and never uploads it. You can browse your folders, search every title and link, and preview pages, all without an account.
To keep these bookmarks next to your reading list, create a free Reading Rewind account, open Bookmarks, and choose Import Bookmarks File from the ⋯ menu at the top of the list. The file is added as its own source, named after it, such as "HTML Import (bookmarks.html)", next to the rest of your library. Importing a file with the same name again replaces only that source.
Merging exports from several browsers? Remove duplicate bookmarks combines them into one clean file. Got years of old links? The dead link checker finds sites that no longer respond.
FAQ
Is Brave Sync a backup?
No. Brave says syncing isn't the same as exporting. On a sync chain, a change on one device spreads to every device, so a bookmark deleted on your phone disappears from your laptop too. An export is a snapshot that stays as it is. Save one before you clean up your bookmarks or leave a sync chain. Source: Understanding Brave Sync.
Phone or computer: where should I export from?
If your phone and computer are on the same sync chain with bookmarks turned on, they hold the same bookmarks, so export from the computer. It's quicker, and the file is already where you'll open it. If bookmarks only live on your phone, export there and move the file across.
